Job Overview:
The Head of Business Development will be responsible for driving the growth and expansion of the financial services firm by developing and implementing strategic business development plans. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong background in sales team setup, forming partnerships with private and government agencies, managing a team of sales agents, and ensuring regulatory and compliance adherence. The Head of Business Development will play a critical role in identifying and securing new business opportunities, fostering long-term relationships, and enhancing the firm’s market position.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development Strategy:
 Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the firm’s goals and objectives.
 Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, markets, and partnerships to drive growth.
 Conduct market research and analysis to inform strategic decision-making and business planning.
 Develop and maintain a business development pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of new opportunities
2. Sales Team Setup and Management:
 Build, lead, and manage a high-performing sales team to achieve business targets.
 Develop sales plans, quotas, and performance metrics for the sales team.
 Provide coaching, training, and mentorship to sales team members to enhance their skills and performance.
 Foster a sales culture focused on customer satisfaction and long-term relationships.
3. Partnerships and Linkages:
 Identify and establish strategic partnerships with private and government agencies.
 Negotiate and secure collaboration agreements to enhance the firm’s service offerings and market reach.
 Foster and maintain strong relationships with key partners to ensure mutual benefits.
 Represent the firm in industry forums and networking events to build partnerships.
4. Sales Agent Team Management:
 Recruit, train, and manage a team of sales agents to expand the firm’s market presence.
 Develop incentive programs and performance metrics for sales agents.
 Monitor and evaluate sales agent performance, providing feedback and support to ensure success.
 Ensure sales agents adhere to the firm’s policies, procedures and ethical standards.
5. Regulatory and Compliance:
 Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
 Stay informed of changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments to business practices.
 Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.

 Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory issues and risks.
6. Financial Management:
 Develop and manage the business development budget.
 Monitor and report on financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability.
 Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial forecasting and planning.
 Implement cost effective strategies to maximize profitability
7. Reporting and Analysis:
 Prepare regular reports on business development activities, progress, and results.
 Conduct performance analysis to identify areas for improvement and growth.
 Present findings and recommendations to the executive team.
 Use data driven insights to refine strategies and improve outcomes
8. Business Development and Sales Duties:
 Proactively seek out and pursue new business opportunities and sales leads.
 Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the firm’s products and services.
 Create and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
 Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing.
 Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients to drive repeat business and referrals.
 Collaborate with marketing teams to develop targeted sales campaigns and initiatives.
 Track and analyze sales metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies and initiatives.
Qualifications:
 Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Finance, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or
advanced degree preferred.
 Proven experience in a senior business development role within the financial services industry.
 Strong knowledge of financial markets, products, and regulatory environment.
 Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
 Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic business plans.
 Experience in sales team management and development.
 Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
 Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, partners, and government agencies.
